am doing Oracle 9.2 and 10.2 installations on HP UNIX server 11i.

I know it is possible to have multiple oraInevntories on same UNIX server, I know some people have one OraInventory for each ORACLE_HOME.
OraInst.loc file specifis where oraInventory is; however, how does one maintain multiple oraInst.loc file, e.g., oraInst.loc.home1, oraInst.loc.home2

Is there an env variable which can point to oraInst.loc file.home1, or is there a way in OUI to specify it. I am unable to find one after searching metalnk and google. I know people rename (or create symbolic link) oraInst.loc.home1 to oraInst.loc before home1 Installation and rename it back. Is this hack only way to accomplish multiple oraInst.loc files.

Thanks. Received on Sat Oct 06 2007 - 16:12:08 CDT
