Home -> Community -> Usenet -> c.d.o.server -> Is there anyway to use different name for oraInst.loc?
am doing Oracle 9.2 and 10.2 installations on HP UNIX server 11i.
I know it is possible to have multiple oraInevntories on same
UNIX server, I know some people have one OraInventory for each
ORACLE_HOME.
OraInst.loc file specifis where oraInventory is; however, how does
one maintain multiple oraInst.loc file, e.g., oraInst.loc.home1,
oraInst.loc.home2
Is there an env variable which can point to oraInst.loc file.home1, or is there a way in OUI to specify it. I am unable to find one after searching metalnk and google. I know people rename (or create symbolic link) oraInst.loc.home1 to oraInst.loc before home1 Installation and rename it back. Is this hack only way to accomplish multiple oraInst.loc files.
