Error opening MS Word Bfiles

We are running Oracle 9iR2 on Redhat Enterprise Linux 4AS, with iAS10.

We have a Web Toolkit developed application that reads MS Word bfiles from the server and displays them in the Word window. Although everything works ok on our test and production servers which run Solaris, when we run the same application on the development system as described above, we get the following error message:-

"Word experienced an error trying to open the file. Try these suggestions
*Check the file permissions for the document or drive
*Make sure there is sufficient memory or disk space
*Open the file with the Text Recovery converter"

We have tried each of these suggestions without success.

Can anyone help me fix this problem.
