Michel correctly pointed out that what you posted was invalid pl/sql and would return a syntax error. In addition you don't supply a version, the definition of types, the error message, or what you were attempting.

apart from not telling us what you were doing, how you were doing it, what you were using and what went wrong the problem statement was pretty good really.

In the mean time if you want to write a function returning some records I suggest you use pl/sql.
