So far you have only been out to condemn RMAN, without actually having
used it, without actually reading the documentatiojn, without even
trying out the workarounds presented to you, without acknowledging you
were, IIRC, not on the last release, which might help you out, etc,
etc, etc.
So, IMO, actually you decided even before you started trying out RMAN,
that is was not going to work. This is the typical 'Not invented here'
syndrome: I don't know how to use it, I don't want to *learn* how to
use it: RMAN doesn't work for me.
Instead of accepting a workaround, or upgrading, or submitting a
Service Request, you started riding a hobby horse, and you started
flaming everyone who demonstrates RMAN actually does work.
You are a typical example of the 'I know everything better'
administrator, who didn't update his knowledge for years and has
become a dinosaur, or worse:
The combination of your lack of knowledge, and your arrogant attitude
makes you an excellent example of a troll.
So, rest assured, as soon as you chime in 'RMAN doesn't work' which is
just plain utter nonsense,as it does work for thousands of people,
except for a troll called 'Alexander Skwar', I will continue to flame
you.
You deserve no better, until you limit your baseless allegations to
'Regrettably RMAN didn't work for me'
But better still of course you better get lost completely.
