I wouldn't expect a google groups IP to accurately reflect geography, though. I'm open to an explanation either way. Where does this post say I am? Santa Monica? Mountain View? I would expect a fairly limited number of sites spread over the US from google, but topological strangeness for some places. Couldn't find the list of locations in the 5 minutes I looked, though there is a big operations center in Chicago.
