In Oracle the comment would be totally meaningless unless you were a DBA and they were giving you login credentials on a server.

Assuming that was the case I'd say ... excuse me while I go update my resume.

The initial checklist would basically consist of:

1. What is in it and what is it used for?
2. What is the SLA on each and every component thereof?
3. What, in writing, are my specific responsibilities?
4. Where are the backups and have they been tested?
  -- of course they would not have been so I would immediately
     perform a full backup using RMAN and then test it to see
     if it could be used to restore and recover.
