thanks for replies. - (Sorry, am still relatively new to using OEM, so please allow for any fundamental misunderstandings) We are in the process of evaluating an SNMP monitoring tool, in the meantime I am just looking for a basic way to make sure that alerts are sent if a DB goes down.
My thinking was that the OMS controls the sending of the alerts, so as long as the agents and the OS are running ok, then the alerts will be sent.
