I am, quite frankly, getting more than a bit tired of the strangle-hold Microsoft has on laptop vendors. I run laptops with Linux and am still forced to pay Microsoft for an operating system that stays on the machine only long enough to get it from store to lab.

It is outrageous and so far both the US and EU have done nothing.
