Well, you do seem to have money to buy the Oracle licence in the first place... Trade it in for 10G! Should be "financially neutral" - you bought the right to use Oracle RDBMS software for eternity, didn't you?
You also seem to have the funds to upgrade your OS... Making it an unsupported combination, as Sybrand already pointed out.
You probably do not have support, either, otherwise
you would be able to download the "Pentium IV/Java bug"
patch.
Workaround: Copy the contents of the CD to disk, and
remove all symcjit.dll files you can find.
Then, run the installer from the harddisk copy of
the CD - not from the CD!!!
