Here's some links that contain some relevant benchmarks. The T2000 is a tad slower in single thread performance than some other sun hardware but makes up for it by having what looks like 32 cpu's ( 8 cores with 4 threads per core ) which make it very attractive for multi threaded applications ( geez kind of like an oracle database ) that don't use much floating point instructions.

You may want to check out the solaris google group there's some interesting threads in that newsgroup for the T2000.
Besides the impressive IO bandwidth and multi threaded design the fact that what looks like a 32 cpu machine only counts for 2 oracle cpu licenses makes it very attractive for oracle databases. Received on Mon Nov 06 2006 - 10:41:57 CST
