performance of backup degrade continuously

Hi,



we are using oracle8i in our service system. The number of record
increases about 3million every day.  We backup the system every day
with HP ominibackup.



In past weeks, we noticed that the backup performance degrade
continuously. ( in past month, the total backup taked about 5hour, it
taked about 8hours last day.)



how can I improve the backup performance?
