Thank you very much guys..these inputs are most helpful...particularly the one on 10g..I shall try that out.

the real problem was: in j233 ntier application, how to audit all the activity happening against the database...i know there are many ways , by which, in j2ee the logging can be done..i was curious to know , whether there is someway by which at database tier, the detailed auditing (of ALL activities against the DB) was possible...even if it is possible, I can see that it is not very easy to achive...
