Dax,



 I remember there are some check scripts that Oracle installation
provides. these scripts have to be run before you start OUI and they
will tell you if everything is fine or not. maybe rlogin is not setup
properly. there could be also be some permission issues.



run these scripts and look at the output before running Installer.



Look at Metalink for any notes that might help you faster.
