If you would manage to install on this systems all the required for Oracle 8i versions of binutils,glibc,gcc ( it is not the complete list), you would introduce so much inconcsistancy in your os, that they could not anymore be considered as RHEL 3 or RHEL 4. If your business needs require Oracle 8i, i would be consistent and go along RHAS 2.1.
