No, you should use oraenv (provided with every release and copied to your local bin directory by rootpre.sh) to set the environment variables correctly. As you obviously don't have different versions of the O/S for different versions of Oracle LD_LIBRARY_PATH can be set correctly in this script only once, and Oracle already indicates the proper place for additions /modifications in the script.
