Performance issue

Hi

                 i have report in report 6i, i made the modification by

creating a custome table and dumping data into it from earlier query by inserting and updating data from formula coloumns. Then I am selecting the data from the table and sorting it by a coloumn and deleteing the data after report.

The problem is its taking more time to run the report, so what do u think the reason might be.
