I wouldn't be suggesting this if I hadn't already
taken 10g for a spin and fell off a couple times :-)
There's a lot of little gotchas and each one
takes time. For example, you have to
have the "login as a batch job" privilege for
a lot of oracle activities. By default even administrator doesn't have
that in 2003 server.
There's just a lot of issues like that.
Plus I'm trying to use features I didn't use before like em and rman and each one of these is a world unto itself.
Anyone know what magic it takes for rman to
recognize a dlt tape drive? MS' backup uses it
just fine. It is using a MS driver dlttape.sys
But apparently that's not enough for rman. I'm
wondering if it is even possible to use this tape
drive with oracle. Windows labels it as
"Bnchmark dlt scsi sequential device".

that sbtio.log exists but has no contents):
