A realistic assessment of the skill set is not belittling someone that doesn't have it. It is giving them a realistic assessment of what they will need to compete against real Oracle DBAs, Sys Admins in Oracle shops that would like to be DBAs and PL/SQL developers in Oracle shops that would like to be DBAs.
Given that you work in DB2, not Oracle, on what basis are you basing your comments about what an Oracle shop requires and hires?
