Hello,

our environment has it where there are multiple versions of Oracle (8i and 9i) databases residing on the same server. I was wondering if there was a technical/functional *need* to have multiple listeners running, or will a single listener do? I understand all the benefits of having multiple listeners like how you can take one down without affecting the entire node, but what I was wondering is there an actual technical reason to have multiple listeners as opposed to a single one? How are your environments set up?
