My laptop is fine with Mandrake 10, it's a Sony Vaio PCG-FR315S. The only thing that doesn't work is the bl00dy WinModem. The specs did say that it was a proper modem, but then Sony 'upgraded'. I have to keep a small XP partition for modem use only. :o(
10G installed fine and only the HTML DB doesn't work. I can't get the b*gg*r to start up. BUt I'm not really worried, yet. When I have time to look into it, I might.

Hmmm. Kernel 2.6 is a lot easier to configure - so I'm led to believe, I've only built a 2.4 kernel once - took hours on a 400 Mhz Pentium 2. I have to say that Windows compilers (Borland C++, C++ Builder and CBuilderX) do seem to work a lot quicker than GCC. But them again, what else is GCC doing that Borland's stuff isn't I wonder?
Good to see you back. Who does your graphics by the way - very nice. I've tried Gimping something similar together for my own site (as and when I get time), but it always looks like a three year old did it !
Cheers,
Norm.
