Hi Chris,

Yes, I'm using the Oracle HTTP server powered by Apache on an HP Unix server running Oracle 8174 and HPUX 11.00. I'm not using IAS.

Performance is excellent. You'd need to be secure to expose a database to the outside world. Mine isn't exposed. (and never will be !) I don't know about the licencing issues though - we have a separate department for that.

Probably - if you have 817 then you have the Apache thing. If you have 9i then you have IAS. Remember though that 817 goues out of support at the end of this year. (Daniel, if you are about to 'rant' don't !) But extended support will still be available - for a fee.

I don't know, however, if it is not, you can still download and install a 'normal' Apache server from the Apache poeple and add mod_plsql to it - so no licencing problems, just a lot more work - or so it seems, getting mod_plsql working.

Well, not connected to the internet, but certainly to the intranet.
