We have a RAC setup on Windows 2000 , IBM pSeries (AIX) and Tru64. Both the windows2000 & Tru64 are production DBs.
We have contact with the RAC development team and still we are not able to keep the 2000 based RAC running for more than a week ! There goes your HA ! I feel like a beta tester here ! Oh yeah it's nice in demo but we will *never* *ever* run a RAC implementation on NT/2000 again. With the Tru64 we initially had some timing problems but after that at least it keeps on going. Before switching to RAC I would carefully rethink all opties and most of the RAC is not necessary - in fact I still prefer mutual take over clusters.
Also Oracle support is quite weak when it comes to RAC/OPS - you can't blame - few years ago there were only a few OPS guru's around - I had to go to Bethesda for a course because you couldn't get it in Europe - there were like only 3 guys who gave the course ... and the course machines weren't even owned by Oracle ! - now all of the sudden everybody seems like an expert.
My personal opinion is - if you're bold enough to run a parallel server on a windows platform don't be surprised to be shuffling a lot of shit with your back against the wall !

BTW - we're switching our RAC/2000 setup back to single instance - I'm pretty sure we'll be getting a much higher uptime - and some more sleep ! :-)
