Dear Kenneth, Andy, Billy and Jonathan,

Thank You all for Your very kind - and long - responses ! I am sorry that I may not post the Execution Plan,
because it is far too long to be realistic (5000++ lines !) - something strange must have happend to my PLAN_TABLE... But Your advices have been very helping already.

We tried some of Your SQL Tuning tips for rewriting, and we seem to make some progress. At least we
do not have ORA-03232 once more. We have made 2 queries with a data link, that seems to make less big
sortings...

I am going to try out Your suggestions, and I hope to have a result soon. I will report it then. So far it seems to be a particular SQL query problem only.
