got it figured out... it appears that nvision is cooking with RBO
and that CBO causes queries to go to outer space.
Oracle has mentioned that 81770 odbc driver does have performance enhancements but I don't think that was our issue.
Interested in hearing any n/vision love/hate stories or further words of wisdom on this.
