Memory leaks are just one of those bad luck things. I was on a site recently that managed to leak 1.6GB of memory in 4 minutes on 8.1.7.2 on a system that had previously been running for four months - with no recent code changes. It was just a new data item appearing that happened to exercise a previously unused code path.
