The OCP exams do have a couple major flaws:



    
  
  1.   They do not cover the operating system and how Oracle interacts
with it.  I know a lot of DBA's that can just barely navigate in UNIX.
 Many can't even install it.  These types of people are usually DB
developers trying to nudge their way into the DBA area.

  
  2.   They do not cover Oracle "annoyances".

  
  3.   There is no Applications DBA exam.
