I have used both Oracle and DB2 and have primarily good things to say about them both. Also, in the midst of learing SQL Server (ughh!).
However, the bottom line is the money. Last year, Oracle had the largest market share with IBM a close second. Both products are constantly adding new features and one feature that the other doesn't have soon shows up in the one that doesn't. Examples such as Partitioning, CBO, multiple buffer pools , PL/SQL, Triggers, and the list goes on and on.
This is good for the consumer as the 'love of money' continues to drive the software to be better and better. Received on Sun Jul 22 2001 - 10:54:45 CDT
