Well, don't know what Paul there is talking about, but I got the exact same problem.
Running a Win2k Active direcotry PDC.
Same error you get.
If I do svrmgrl at the DOS prompt, connect internal, then startup The database mounts and works.
Doesn't make sense to me. Maybe what Paul says is true, just can't make sense of what it means.
