Re: Oracle 8i intalls on Solaris device busy problem

I have had this problem happen numerous times ... I'm a slow learner ... and have found a workaround that so-far is 100% effective.

1. Always execute runInstaller in the background as you have indicated - ./runInstaller &

and

2. Make sure that no window that has accessed the CDROM is open.

If that is the case opening a new terminal window and typing "eject cdrom" will work.
