I would add that the 8.1.7 database docs on this site (minus the Windows-specific and UNIX-specific docs) can also be searched via http://tahiti.oracle.com. This site includes fastpaths and search features specifically aimed at Oracle DBAs and developers:

• Crucial information like SQL and PL/SQL syntax, initialization parameters, and catalog views available at the top level.
• Search results point to any level of heading, not just the beginning of the file. (Since many doc files are >100K.)
• Ability to search just inside code examples. Also variations like title search and single-book search.
• "Virtual book" result format groups related topics from multiple books together. Particularly useful for topics like Java and XML that have multiple books devoted to them.
• Quick links to any of the 80+ volumes of database server documentation, no guessing which category the book is in.
