Oracle 8i startup in Windows2000?

Hi All,

We are running 8.1.6 and 8.1.7 (Not on the same server)on Windows 2000 with Service Pack 1.

Each time our Windows 2000 servers are restarted, none of the Oracle instances startup properly.

In the Services applet, the Oracle services say 'started'.

Attempting to connect gives a ORA-27101 error: shared memory realm does not exist.

This doesn't seem to be a problem with Windows 2000 without the service pack.

We can start the databases up manually with svrmgrl.

Do we have a config problem, or is this a known issue with 8.1.6 and 8.1.7 on Win2k w/SP1?
