Oracle 8i, NES and Solaris 2.7

We are running Netscape Enterprise Server 3.6 and Oracle 8i on a single Solaris 2.7 server. We have been unable to establish a native Oracle connection from Netscape to Oracle using dbadmin. We can, however, connect to the Oracle database on Solaris from NES 3.6 on Windows NT using an ODBC connection. Are there any known compatabilty issues with NES 3.6, Solaris 2.7 and/or Oracle8i?
