feedback welcome about exports

I was wondering what other dbas thought about this:

Is it better to do nightly exports, one for each user's data?

or

do a full export every night?

put aside for a minute all the backup options. Just consider the above, is it easier to do each user's data, thereby making it quicker to restore a single user's data? or to select a user's data from a full db dump?
