You probably want to try connecting with SQL+ before you move on to enterprise manager. You'll need to build a connection in your tnsnames.ora file. A bequeath connection is easiest if you're working on the server itself. Depending on what you did on the install you may have to create a listener before you can build a TCP/IP connection. When the connection is done and working you'll need to set up a repository in order to run Enterprise Manager.
