Re: installing oracle 8.0.3 on DEC UNIX

Your problem is that you logged into the system using an ID which is different from the ID you're running the installer under. There are two possible fixes:

--logout of the system and re-login as the oracle user --find a window where you haven't done an su and run: xhost +

Either should work, but the first solution is more secure.
