Hi Suzanne,

Despite any protestations by Oracle to the contrary, Oracle for VMS will be eventually dropped. So there is no future, but it will probably be *many* years before they suspend support entirely. There just isn't any money to be made in it.

I used to work on VMS/Oracle; the support was horrible. Every time you called Oracle you had to wait a couple days for them to find a VMS specialist who understood what you were talking about.

With NT, UNIX, and now even LINUX sales so strong, there is just no incentive (or reason) for Oracle to put any money into VMS.
