This may be a little late, but...
I was testing backup on a Netware file server and received something similar to this. Oracle was asking for a archived redo log that was not there. After a little investigation, I realized that Oracle was asking for one of the online redo logs. I have two with the database. Either a log switch occured and the redo log was not archived yet, or it is the current redo log. I never go that far. Anyway, I got solved the problem by entering:
alter database recover logfile 'sys:oranw732\database\redo01a.log'
Oracle applied the log and I was able to open the database.
I would be interested if anyone knows whether this is the current redo log or one that was not archived yet.
