I had the same problem recently (Oracle 7.1 under Solaris x86 2.5),
on heavy loaded machine with the multi-threaded server (many users
with short transactions and a few with long (thru dedicated)).
Oracle under NT is much like multi-threaded server - there are no
separate processes for dbwr, reco, lgwr, smon, pmon. But since I
refused multi-threaded server it works all fine.
