There are 60 Named User Plus licenses for Oracle Enterprise Edition
11g in the company. All these users use a production instance on a
server with 1 processor. We are not sure if we need additional
licenses in these cases:
- If we add a second production instance, do we need to buy addition named user plus licenses? All the users will be the same as the users of the first instance.
- We are going to install a new application on the same server that also uses Oracle Enterprise Edition 11g database. All the physical users of the new applications will be the same that use the first instance. Do we need to buy additional 60 Named User Plus licenses?
- Also we are planning to install a production instance to another server with 1 processor. Again all the users are the same. We hope that as Named User plus license is multi server (as written in the Oracle investment guide) and minimum on the both servers is met (25+25), we can use the 60 Named User Plus licenses that we already have. Are we right? Or do we need to buy additional 60 Named User Plus licenses?
Thank you,
Elvira
