That's pretty interesting. I think Sybrand hit it on the head about the version thing, .so's are likely to be different. Your link shows how to use strace (truss in your case) and has the author's email in it, why don't you use those and let us know how you made it work? It seems a decent geeky idea, wear a client with sqlloader around your neck, plug data in anywhere.
