Dears,

I would be grateful to have your recommendations on how to best handle this scenario.

Context: A customer has a on site database, that includes production data and setup data. Setup data live in their own tablespace.

Scenario: A field technicien takes a copy of the customer setup data on his laptop database. Freezes the customer setup data. Makes some changes on its laptop setup data. Transfers back the changes to the customer database. The changes are compatible with the production data.

Procedure should be easy and fool-proof.

Oracle 9 and 10. Support for Oracle 8 would be appreciated.

Being able to reconcile the customer setup while customer is working would be appreciated.

I'm notably looking for the best tool to transfer back the changes to the customer database.

The goals are to : Work calmly in an off-site location without link to customer database. Test changes on a test database. Synchronize setup in another database.

Thanks much
