Views are metadata (unless materialized). Triggers are code that act on events. Indexes in Oracle are merely performance enhancements and sometimes used to constrain data. Oddly enough, that is a legitimate use of the word refreshment. Learn something new every day.

And not necessary in some Oracle situations.
