SQLPlus, SQLPlusW crash after login

Hi folks,

I'm new to Oracle and need some help, but probably not the usual kind. I have the 9.2.0.1.0 client installed on my WinXP pro machine. Whenever I try to start sqlplus from the command line (with params), it crashes immediately. I get a Windows dialog - "sqlplus.exe has encountered a problem and needs to close". I can start sqlplusw, but I get a similar dialog after the login prompt.

I have three machines, and this is my development box. It has had an Oracle 10 client on it previously, which I uninstalled. I have removed leftover registry settings, the c:\program files\oracle folder (after uninstalling 9.2.0.1.0 again) and nothing has changed. My other two machines run sqlplus and sqlplusw without issue.

Any ideas? I did note that while sqlplus and sqlplusw won't work, tnsping does work.

Thanks in advance. Received on Wed Nov 22 2006 - 12:06:20 CST
