It goes without saying that Tom Kyte says everyone should lock themselves permanently into Oracle solutions. Oracle pays him to say that, and he probably has shares and stock options whose value will improve if more companies lock themselves into Oracle and out of the competition. Steve Ballmer says everyone should lock themselves into Microsoft solution. Quelle surprise.
I can think of no company that has better conditioned associated third parties, like consultants, into corporate chauvinism and groupthink. Oracle has outdone both Microsoft and IBM, which says a lot. I dare say: only the Marxists have been more effective at crushing individual critical thought.
