dan's link caught my attention as i had not remembered (+) in MS-SS, and indeed could not find any other references. so, good call on clarifying that.
however, i found this interesting comment when doing my research (from http://msdn2.microsoft.com/en-us/library/zt8wzxy4.aspx)
