OT: Portable Manual Reader?

I am looking for recommendations for a portable pdf reader so I can keep up with the oracle manuals.

I have a laptop but it is too big and awkward to use on the subway to work.

I also have a Palm Tungsten T3, but the screen size combined with the font-size which Adobe Reader for Palm chooses, means I get about 6 words per line and 8 lines per screen which doesn't make for easy reading. Scrolling back and forth is very awkward as well.

I used to have a Psion Series 5 with a public domain PDF reader which let me pick the zoom level and was easy to read. Unfortunately my Psion died and Psion pulled out of the market.

Can anyone recommend a suitable gadget with a good screen and pdf reader?
