Pro*C question - New here...

I am new to this news group and hope someone here can point me in the right direction for this question. I am trying to understand why the SQL in my ProC program is taking longer to return than when I just drop the SQL into SQLPLUS. When running the ProC program, the activity seems to hang when doing the FETCH. The DBAs state that the SQL cannot be tuned much more because when it is used in SQLPLUS, the information is returned immediately.

I am willing to post more about the issue, but I wanted to make sure I was posting to the right area.
