I have New 8.0.5.0.0 Enterprise for Windows NT & 95/98 and Oracle Fail Safe 2.1.3.0.0 for MS Windows NT & 95/98

I am not hooked up to a network, I thought I could use it standalone. The database assistant and SQL database builder seem to only work if one would be on an NT system and I am using Windows ME. I have a couple of questions.

Is there a way to get the Database Assistant or SQL to work with Win ME stand alone?
What version of NT would I need and or should or could I use windows XP and or do I have to be on a network?
