It failed to start automatically and I tried "lsnrctl dbsnmp_start". The command produced no error but I got the message "the db subagent not started" when I use "lsnrctl dbsnmp_status" to verify. What does this mean? I looked at the SNMP support reference guide without much success.

I don't know why but there is a note in the OEM Configuration Guide 2.0 mentioning explicitly that do not use the lsnrctl command to start the intelligent agent for windows NT.

I wasn't find any dbsnmp*.log file. why?

I did find these files. I also deleted them and regenerated them by trying to restart the agent. Actually, this means the starting process didn't fail right away but went for some distance, right?

I checked the $TEMP, $ORACLE_HOME/network and all its sub directories. The read/write permissions are right.

any other way to fix the problems?

Thanks Syrand.
