Home -> Community -> Usenet -> c.d.o.tools -> monitoring a database
Hi,
we are using Oracle 8.0.5.1 under Linux that runs two instances. One
instance is permanently used by WebObjects (Apple, under Solaris 7).
The other database is used by a crs (customer relationship). The database which feeds the WebObjects is up 24/7. Now we have the problem that every one or two weeks oracle and webobjects loose connection. The logfile of webobject reports: GeneraAdaptorException: ORA-00911: invalid character
The Linux system seems to be very stable all the time and doesn't report anything important in its logs.
What I want to know is: is there a possibility to verify ORA-00911 on
the oracle side? I can't see that oracle creates any log files. Is there a posibility to monitor the oracle database 24/7 so I can see if
oracle recognizes that something is going wrong?
